Overview
AEGIS-RM (Action-aware Edge-Guarded Intelligence and Secure-execution for Robots and Manufacturing) develops technology that protects the intelligence of AI robots and humanoids on the factory floor, together with the manufacturing know-how they learn. It is funded by Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MoTIR) through the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) under the Robot Industry Technology Development Programme, runs from August 2026 to December 2029, and is led by KETI.
Factory robots absorb the craft of their operators: trajectories, grasp poses, alignment rules, process parameters. If a model is stolen or inverted, that know-how leaves with it, and a bad output from a vision-language-action model (VLA) or robot foundation model (RFM) turns straight into robot motion. AEGIS-RM aims at a security platform that protects and defends robot intelligence across training, inference and control.
